Issues related to environmental issues, climate change and the need for more sustainable development are extremely topical in the public and political debate at a global level. The amount of information on this topic available in print or digital form is large and varied. However, access to this information requires not only a specific interest, but also a high cultural level and good schooling.
As a result, a large part of the population, especially those who come from a migrant and refugee background with low knowledge of the language of the host country, is excluded from accessing knowledge and skills deemed essential to promote sustainability.
The “One Degree” project aims to bridge this gap by developing easy-to-understand and easy-to-use educational materials that promote sensitivity to environmental issues, pollution, global warming, etc. This teaching material will be available for free and will serve to promote training opportunities for young people and adults with poor education and inadequate knowledge of the language, especially foreigners, refugees and migrant women. The educational products developed by the project will help develop key competences and skills in understanding climate change. Simple topics and everyday life will explain the complex connections between climate, weather, food, energy, transport, waste cycle etc.
