Summary:
DECOUNT is a project against extremism funded by the European Commission. Within two years, a game, a short film and a website were created. The information was obtained from interviews with previously radicalized persons or from youth centres.
How do radicalisation processes actually take place? And how can we prevent young people from becoming radicalised? This game provides information and materials on the topic of radicalisation and the prevention of extremism. Not only can radicalisation processes simply be replayed here, but there is also a guide to using the game in youth centres or at school. Currently the game is available in German only, but a English version is in development.
- Online game: In the game, you can reenact the possible life paths of two jihadists or two right-wing extremists. The aim of the game is to strengthen critical thinking, to create awareness of one’s own capability to act and to create awareness against extremist propaganda.
- Short film: The short film “The Experiment” aims to offer a positive alternative to the polarizing and divisive rhetoric of extremist groups: https://youtu.be/TX94T3T6o3w
