There have always been conspiracy theories, but the pandemic underway has proved to be a particularly fertile ground for their spread. They are part of a wider trend of increasing hate speech, and increased racist, xenophobic, and anti-Semitic attacks, which also target LGBTQ communities.
A new campaign helps how to identify, debunk, react to and report on conspiracy theories to prevent their spread. Infographics and a social media pack help spread the word that facts matter. Thinking critically and being informed about conspiracy theories is key to challenging them.
